Valentine’s Date – a Photo Essay
My husband and I usually do not do anything fancy for Valentine’s Day, maybe some candy and chocolates and a special homemade dinner. But this year when I saw a Living Social Deal for a Wine Tasting for 2, I couldn’t pass it up. We went on Saturday afternoon the day after Valentine’s Day for or Valentine’s Date and since it was downtown we were quite excited about walking around, taking pictures and enjoying our time together. So that is how I decided to share our evening, in pictures. Love you Honey! So thankful for a loving, funny, caring husband. I love you Craig you are my soulmate, a gift…
End of Summer Moments to Remember
One of my favorite blogs, one of the blogs that was a huge help early in my homeschool journey is 1+1+1=1. I was at her site recently and I came across a link-up that sounds fantastic. Here is the description: “Moments to Remember was developed as a simple way to look back on our week as homeschoolers and find photos that encompass the memories we want to remember. The week may have been tough, there may have been more bumps than smiles, but in the end these are the moments that keep us going, the ones we need to remember.” I love this idea. Especially since I know this blog is basically my journal,…
First Time Family Pictures
We finally did it! Thanks to Facebook, I recently saw some gorgeous photos of families I know. I just had to get ours done too. We have never had professional pictures done, now I couldn’t resist. I wanted some nice pics of the whole family. So we did it! I contacted the photographer who took the pictures of the other families, her name is Lisa with LiLo Photography. She set us up to meet at a local Museum that has a working farm, great place to snap pics. Can I just tell you that I LOVE the pictures? I was so nervous because honestly I didn’t know if my boys…
Turning 8
My oldest turned 8 this past week and we did things a little different this year. Usually we do the whole party thing, but I thought it was time for some more meaningful time with people he loves. I asked him if he wanted to have each Grandma take him on a date and then we would let him choose a friend to take to our local amusement center. He loved the idea and so I let our families know the scoop, they were game! The night before his birthday my Mom picked him up and they headed straight for the “toy aisle”. Preston picked out his favorite toy – building bricks.…
Stopping to Smell the Roses, Literally!
I love flowers, I love gardening. Before I had kids, most of my time was spent gardening. I researched, planned, plotted and planted. Fast forward 8 years and I have no time to garden, I figure I will be able to do it again once my kids are a little older. Until then, I get my flower fix at my local public garden, called Hudson Gardens. 30 acres of God’s beauty in nature. It’s almost heaven! I wandered through the Rose Garden and snapped some shots of my favorites. Other Flowers: Hope you enjoyed!
Fun in the Sun
The weather here in Colorado is crazy! One day it is 70 , the next it is snowing and freezing, then back to 70 the next day. Seriously! Last week on one of the so-so days we had some fun outside. Wasn’t too cold, wasn’t too hot. The boys did floor puzzles on the sidewalks, we colored the sidewalks with chalk. We ate lunch on a blanket in the grass, fun! To top it off… the boys went for the costume drawer, which is always a hit. this is a Buzz Lightyear, IronMan Hybrid LOVE this life!!
Super Duper Sweetness
As you may have seen from an earlier post, my son and I went on a date recently. We had a really great time. I wanted to share with you, a sweet, intimate moment between the 2 of us. While at a restaurant I excused myself to use the restroom. When I came around the corner to our booth, my son was sitting in my seat, I watched for a second and realized he was taking pictures of himself with the camera. I sneaked up behind him and joined in the pictures, he never knew I was behind him. When I sat down he told me to look at the…
a Date with My Boy
This past weekend I took my 7 year old on a date to downtown Denver. I secretly bought a Groupon to see the Imagination Movers live. **Disclaimer – I had no clue who they were, my poor boy was the oldest one there, by far! He was not that amused, although he started to enjoy the show** We started by taking the light rail, then off to explore Downtown, ate some chocolate cake, watched the show, and topped it off with a big bucket of movie theater popcorn for the ride home on the light rail. I really enjoyed our time and I am reminded how important it…
