    A Day in the Life

I am participating in a blog hop hosted by heartofthematteronline.com – this week’s subject is …. A DAY IN THE LIFE – we started today, perfect timing. YAY! We did it, we really actually did it! We completed our first official day of Homeschool! I really had no clue about how it would go, I even expected the worst, but I was pleasantly surprised. We started off with French Toast, OJ and Yogurt – yum! Then off to the school table… I will list our schedule below (not really a schedule, just a list of things we did). I didn’t time subjects or even look at the clock, I didn’t…

    Legos, Who Knew?

I have to admit I had no idea about this phenomenon we are embarking upon. Since my oldest is now 7, he has graduated to new toys. In particular, he has gone completely, crazy-overboard over LEGOS! He can’t get enough, he builds and builds and then builds some more. I love to see his imagination stirring, the things he has come up with are so inventive, I love the outlet LEGOS provide. Creatively, scientifically, they are awesome. After he got his first set and loved it, I set out to find used Legos. I am a huge believer in buying toys on craigslist, eBay, etc. However, it seems that this…

    Preston’s Desk

The clock is ticking. Can you hear it? I couldn’t either until this week, now the ticking is getting louder and louder. I am getting very excited and very nervous. So today I am going to just blog about my 1st graders desk, that’s easy. Hope you like. I would have loved this setup when I was young.

Seriously, This May be the Best Dessert Snack Ever, Really!

Share Who doesn’t love a good Heath bar or Skor? Yummy toffee-nutty-ness, covered with delicious chocolate and a hint of salt. I love chocolate and salt, ever since my mom introduced me to popcorn and M&M’s – wow! You are only 4 simple ingredients away from amazing scrumptious-ness. I found this recipe on a MOPS forum one time and let me just tell you – It is easy, cheap to make and sooooo, sooooo very good! Homemade Heath Bar 40 soda crackers (saltine) 1 c. brown sugar 1 c. butter 12 oz. chocolate chips Line cake pan with aluminum foil. Place crackers over entire bottom of pan. Boil brown sugar…

School Pictures – My Super-Cute Students, ok so I am a little biased!

I have been participating in the Not Back to School Blog Hop that is being hosted at http://heartofthematteronline.com.  This weeks topic is School Pictures.  So I haven’t really had a chance to cut the boys hair and get them all “spiffy” so I pulled some pics that were taken while we have been enjoying our summer the past couple of months.  Also, here is a video we made of our kids and other family, I hope you enjoy! Be sure to come back, next week’s topic is “A Day in Our Life”.

    Starting Traditions – Family Night

Before I became a mother and I suppose even for a couple of years after I became a mother I was extremely adverse to traditions, I just didn’t care for the conventional way of doing things.  However, after having more children and building our family I am warming up to the thought of traditions. Traditions can bring a family together, they can cement a firm foundation.  Traditions are something to pass on to future generations.  Unlike material items that are sometimes passed down from one generation to the next, traditions can’t be lost, stolen, broken or the like.  I like this idea of creating a  loving heritage built on family…

    More Classroom Ideas

Earlier this week I joined the Not-Back to School Blog Hop, so many homeschoolers participated, it was inspiring! Who doesn’t love a peek into someone else’s life and home. After looking at other blogs I decided to share my room, in more detail, so that others can get ideas, the way I have been getting classroom ideas. Two blogs that played a huge role in giving me inspiration for preschool activities, classroom ideas, preschool lesson plans, and more are http://www.1plus1plus1equals1.com and http://homeschoolcreations.blogspot.com/ – a huge thank you to Carisa and Jolanthe. They have helped me so much, hope this helps someone else! Classrooom Ideas, Morning Board: Color of the Day…

    A Rainbow – A Reminder of a Beautiful Promise

This past weekend we had the opportunity to attend a Broncos practice at Mile High Stadium. When we arrived, amidst all the chaos, a wonderful reminder. While it is so easy to get wrapped up in our surroundings, sometimes it is good to step back and think about bigger things. In Genesis 9 we read about Noah and the Flood. After the flood, God made a promise and with that promise he set up a visual reminder, an amazingly beautiful reminder. Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him,  “Behold, I establish my covenant with you and your offspring after you,  and with every living creature that is…
