More Options to Consider
When you decide to homeschool, I am finding out, that there are so many options for every facet of home education. In Colorado, a child who is 7 years of age and older must register with their county. Registering is simply filling out the letter of intent, this is one from Jefferson County. It must be turned in 14 days prior to the start of the school year. Something I found out today while searching the Christian Home Educators of Colorado’s website, is that you can register with Independent Schools. Independent schools offers perks such as testing, attendance tracking, record keeping, diagnostics, support, and more. Some schools offer yearbook class and field trips.…
Excitement is Building..maybe a little nervousness
This morning I went to the Mardel Education Sale! Since I have SONLIGHTs CORE 1, I was looking to buy Horizons Math I and maybe a Science program. All education items are 20% off. Unfortunately, they did not have Horizons 1, I quickly grabbed a Saxon Grade 1 Math. Growing weary in my hasty decision to grab the Saxon, I ran around the store looking for a friend from church. She home schools and I knew she would offer excellent advice. I asked her about Saxon and she said that she uses Saxon now but when he son was younger she used Horizons. She said Horizons is more colorful and “exciting” for…
Step Into My Fantasy
Hello and welcome to my fantasy world. As kids we were allowed to think up anything, no barriers, no limits. I wanted to share the fantasy I currently have in my mind: Welcome to our 5 room log cabin, outfitted with the latest in solar panels for maximum energy efficiency. Our living room has a huge stone fireplace, where we can actually slide a pizza in to cook to perfection. We have a massive comfy couch that can seat like 10 people! In place of a television is a huge bureau of board games, books and crafts. The hardwood floors add to the rustic-ness of our place. After all…
Sweeter than most?
Is it possible that some people can be sweeter than others? In taste I mean. Well, ok, let me explain. I am kidding about taste but my poor sweet little Oliver is constantly the target of bees and spiders, every summer his lil body gets nasty bites and bumps. I feel so sad for him, his brothers are completely left alone. On Thursday he was playing on the playground when a bee flew up his shirt sleeve, became trapped and proceeded to sting my lil baby 3 times! Friday night after his bath, I noticed a huge ruddy and red spot on his shoulder, it was about 4 inches…
He Stands at the Door and Knocks
Seriously HUGE Deals, Had to Share!
About six months ago I got an email invite to join Groupon. I have seen some really great deals on there! This past week I purchased $21 worth of food for ONLY $10 at Fatburger, which by the way was yummy, save for the extra fries. Next time we will all order burgers only and 1 order of fries to share. This week I saw a posting on Facebook and it was from a friend who had just purchased a family pack of tickets to a local water park. The deal was $17 for 4 passes. So I jumped on … this site was run by mamapedia and it’s called…
Whew~!
We are moved! Whew. Seriously I hate moving, but I like it too… Hate: Packing >Physical moving of Boxes to the truck and truck to the new place >Unpacking >Cleaning new place when it is supposed to be clean >Dealing with address changes and installations Love: >A new place! All empty and ready to be setup just how I like >The opportunity to get rid of stuff we don’t need, instead of bring it along I use moving as an opportunity to lighten our load >Meeting new neighbors Well that’s about all the writing I have in me at this point! Hopefully tomorrows post will not be in the moving…
