Super Mario Birthday Party
Birthday parties are what you do when you become a parent. Who knew? It can be daunting with so many details, so much money. For the first few years I had always felt obligated to reserve a “place” to go for my kids birthday parties. These last 2 years, though, have changed my mind and scope. I decided to start doing backyard birthday parties. Nothing beats them, I promise. Homemade games and activities with a relaxed environment, you don’t have to leave at a certain time and when the party is over – you’re already home! My nephews birthday was the most recent in our family and my sister approved…
Tragedy in Aurora – What to do?
Tragedy has stuck Colorado once again. I woke up in the middle of the night to send an email that was on my mind and I decided to check Facebook real quick. The most Recent Story was my local news channel reporting the theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado at the midnight premiere of Batman. Then I see my cousin posted about it and was listening to the police scanners. How terrible a tragedy. People innocently celebrating the return of an all time Super Hero. My heart hurts when I think of the jovial mood… the young kids and teens, the young adults. I am sure happiness filled the air. Then all of…
A Hike Up Waterton Canyon
Living in Colorado, we are never lacking a place to spend the outdoors! We especially love the mountains. So many trails, parks, rivers, it is a dream living so close to it all. One place we love to go is hiking in Waterton Canyon in the foothills of the Rockies. My husband took the boys there recently and they spent 4 hours, hiking, fishing, climbing and exploring. The best classroom ever! I had to enlarge this first picture for you … my boys!
Think About These Things
In today’s world, every other minute my mind is taken off my Creator, the triune God. When I know the things we read in the Bible are true, what can lure my thoughts away from Him? He is love, grace, mercy, justice, everything, He is the Alpha and Omega. Sadly, just about anything snares my thoughts, steals my mind from Him. I need Him to guide me every second. How can I keep Him at the top of my mind? In Philippians He tells us what to keep our minds on, Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is…
Have You Not Heard?
Comfort for God’s People 40 Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. 2 Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed, that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins. 3 A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord[a]; make straight in the desert a highway for our God.[b] 4 Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. 5 And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” 6 A voice says, “Cry out.” And I…

Backyard Fun
Now that we have the luxury of a backyard I am always looking for fun stuff to do or setup for the boys back there. Our latest venture was inspired by Pinterest, of course. It is little town setup for the boys to drive their Hotwheels and Matchbox cars around in. I used to love to play with my brothers cars out in the yard, I would literally spend hours out there. When i saw the ideas for creating a place for cars to cruise, I was pumped. My oldest was the most excited, he jumped right on board. He went to the room to gather supplies like buildings and…
